I have made a rainbow button necklace like the one below before, I received lots of complements so I've made it again, except this time using more buttons and smaller sized ones. I have been so busy with my Facebook page I haven't had much time to blog.

I have held a Free Give Away for reaching 100 likes and that was a week ago and now my page has 280 odd likes! I can't believe it! Which also there will be a Give Away again when it reaches 300 likes (AUS & NZ Only).

Funny Photographing Experience

I have already shared this story and photo on my Facebook page today but for those of you on blogger here it is now:

So this morning I was out in the garden photographing my jewellery pieces and when I came and placed this heart broach on a rock, ready to take a photograph... one of our chickens came up to it and picked it up by its beak! I was fast enough to grab it before the chook ran of with it... So I thought this would make a real treat to go with the story! So I placed the broach back down on the rock and got a photograph of the chook's curiosity.

A Bit About Me

Where do I begin?

Lets start here...I would have to say I am a young entrepreneur.

I am a teenager with a passion for fashion! Jewellery was one of my biggest hobbies from a young age as I grew older my quality improved from there on people started asking if they could buy a piece I just made.

Or I got special requests if I could make something as a present for their birthday or for Christmas.

As well as jewellery making I like to design clothes and outfits I have a collection of sketches I may share with you all one day.

I have been raised by a single mum, I have two sisters and two brothers. My family is full of artists, My mother is an artist, she draws, paints and and has produced textiles for exhibitions dedicated to her fine work, she also has a masters degree in visual art and qualifications as a high school art and home economics teacher.

My Aunties and Uncle are artists, My uncle and two brothers are musicians, oh which takes me too another thing, I am learning the guitar with guidance from my second eldest brother, I am now matching music to lyrics. I may not be the best singer but I find that I also have a flair in writing music.

The biggest highlight in my life would have to be living on an Aboriginal community for part of childhood, developing friendships with the indigenous kids, learning the culture and how to speak their language it is amazing that I experienced this when I was only 10 years old yet I remember everyday I spent there.

I live in Australia, and after living in 13 different locations around this country as well as all the traveling, especially by long outback and coastal road trips, our family has now settled on the coast of South East Queensland. My mother and I are now trying to get our creative pieces presented online and at market stalls around the region, hopefully this leads some where not only for my benefit but for my mother's so she can carry on with her art and craft while supporting herself when I leave home pursuing my education and work career.

I have moved Yayy!! We are finally settled in our lovely new cottage and I have been busy setting up my creative spaces. I have my sewing area, two printing spaces and two places for painting and designing. Well, we have found, its such a great town lots of vibrant markets and creative people My daughter Molly and I are headlong into production we plan to have a market stall in a couple of months or so. I am into fabric dyeing and printing in full swing and am making some of it into upmarket bags such as this little number. It has an interior change pocket as well as a small pocket for your mobile phone. Molly loves it and I'm hoping it will appeal to the teen age group.

I am in the process of making downloadable pdf patterns and tutes for my bags they will be able soon for a very small price and I also am producing cd's to sell from our stall. I have started a new tutorial page on this blog I have just uploaded the instructions for the very funky process of dyeing buttons I will be using these as embellishments on some of my bags and Molly has been using them to produce some very stunning Jewelry Go and check it out they are just gorgeous! So back to my tute page instructions and dye types are all listed go and have some fun Tutes to follow soon will be Indigo, Rust and Tannic, Fibre Reactives and Direct Dyes.

Button Necklace

Yesterday not long after I created my button charm bracelet I gave it a go at making a button necklace!

I think this is one of the best ideas! Just look at all the colours!

I never really understood how people would go crazy over buttons but now I think I do.

When I put the necklace on around my necklace the feel of these buttons draping on your chest I just had to love.

Today I have been inspired! Inspired to make button jewellery!

My mother has been dying buttons along with her fabrics, when she dyes these buttons they come up so well, there are all different shades and variations of colours such blues, greens, pinks and yellows and so many more! Today I used purple buttons to create my button jewellery piece which is indeed a charm bracelet.

How to Make Beaded Slave Bracelet

This is my latest tutorial.
After coming up with own design of a slave bracelet I thought I would put this tutorial together so others can make one of this design as well. This slave bracelet is quite simple you should have no problems following these instructions just make sure you have all the right materials and you will be fine. Have Fun!

Here are the instructions on how to make your own Beaded Slave Bracelet!

You will need:
- Pliers
- Pier Cutters

- Wrist memory wire

- Ring memory wire

- Glass seed beads

- Assorted beads of same size

- Silver chain - 7.8 -8cm; or change length to suit hand size

- 2 x silver drops

- 2x silver finish jump rings

1 Firstly you will need to thread your beads onto your memory wire.
Now cut your memory wire having it 3-4 rings thick. make a loop at one end of your meory wire and use the other end to thread your beads on. after every 15th seed bead thread on a bigger bead then repeat the pattern until you have all wire beaded, make sure their is enough memory wire left to finish of with another loop.

2 Now to make your ring.
Using the ring memory wire loop one end, make sure the loop is small enough it won't dig into your skin when wearing the ring. With the same seed beads you used to bead your bracelet use to bead your ring. When your ring is beaded finish it with another loop at the end.

3 Now you have your memory wire bracelet and ring. you will now need to make the beaded charms.
Do this by threading each bead onto a headpin, then once you've done that loop the top of the headpin. Now attach your charms to a jump ring each and attach them to one end of your chain. The chain I used was 7.8 to 8cm long but you can change the length to suit your hand size.

4 This is the easy part and the final step to finish your beautiful new piece of jewellery!
All you have to do now is attach a jump ring to both ends of the chain then attach the end of the chain with the beaded charms to one ended loop of your bracelet. Now attach the other end of your chain to your ring.

Yay! You have finished making your Beaded Hand Slave Ring!

My New Creations

The day before yesterday I was gathering new ideas of what I could make that is completely different to anything I have made before. Instead of all the basic pieces of jewellery I usually make such as earrings, necklaces and bracelets I though I would give it ago at making Broaches and a Slave foot ring!

I have used Safety Pin as the attachment piece for the Broaches, they are great as you can attach them to neally anything! They look great on fabric bags as really glitzy accessories, they also look great on hats and clothing!

My mum is a great bag maker and designer and she gave me the idea if I could make these broaches as soon we will be holding market stalls my broaches will be great to have available with her beautiful bags. Maybe we could even start a new trend with this idea!

Also here is the Foot Slave Ring I made, A friend has told me that it looks very sexy!

How to Make a Glass Beaded Charm Bracelet

Here are these very simple steps of making a beaded charm bracelet of you very own!

Materials:

-Nylon or elastic thread
-15-16 medium size Glass beads
-15-16 beads, 10mm beads, if 5mm you will need 30-32 beads
-15-16 headpins
-15-16 jump rings
-two crimp beads and two piece clasp (if using nylon thread)
-Pliers
-scissors

1. First you need to decide what colour findings you will be using (silver, gold, antique ect) and what type of glass beads and what colour for example, random mix, blue, green, red mix, ect. And also the beads you will be using to space the charms, smaller beads are preferred. And then are you going to have it on elastic or nylon? If you are going to make it on nylon you will need to work out what type of clasp you will use.

Now we get started on making your glass beaded charm bracelet.

1. Now you need to start stranding on your glass beads onto the head pins, you can have more than one bead on each headpin if you like. After you thread a bead onto each headpin, using the pliers you need to bend a closed up loop using the the rest of the wire on the headpin. These will become your charms for your beaded charm bracelet.

2. Now put your charms aside. Okay now you need to cut your elastic/nylon,You will need to have it two strands thick to give the bracelet extra strength to hold the glass beads and to make it easier for attaching the clasps to the nylon thread.

3.This step is if you are using nylon thread. With the nylon fold it in half and thread one piece of the clasp to the fold. Now thread a crimp on the two strands and squeeze it tight so the clasp piece is held in place.

4. Before you start threading on all the beads attach each charm to it own jump ring.

5. Now to start threading on your beads (the beads which will be separating the charms). After one or two small bead, thread on one charm (making sure your threading the charms on through the jump rings).

By now your bracelet should look similar to this:

6. Once you've threaded on all your beads and charms, for the elastic bracelet you will need to tie a double knot with the two ends of the bracelet:

7. With the nylon bracelet you will need to thread on a crimp and then the other piece of the clasp and then thread the nylon back through the crimp and the last bead you thread on. Then you need to squeeze the crimp in place and tie a not where you thread the nylon back through the last bead.

This is the finished product of an elastic beaded charm bracelet I have made:

I have used mostly glass beads and all are made with silver plated findings.

I've threaded these beads and charms onto elastic so you can easily slide the bracelet on.

When worn you can feel the smoothness and weight of the beads, which this is how I love my bracelets to feel on my wrist.

Toddler Bracelets!

Thanks to a request I received from my older sister to make a couple of bracelets to fit the wrist of her 2 year old daughter, I am now making toddler bracelets!

Most bracelets I have started making are a length of 12 - 13centermeters, and if I receive any requests to make them longer/smaller I will make those different lengths.

These bracelets do contain small beads and it is recommended for your child to wear these with supervision.
